“I am a man more sinned against than sinning.”

This quote shows that King Lear believes that he has got worse than he has given during his life. I agree with this statement as King Lear used to be an alright guy and only recently has been making continuous mistakes. The position of a king comes with a great amount of pressure and hatred. I believe that King Lear has sinned a fair amount but with the position he is in, I think he would most likely be sinned against more than he has sinned on others.

  1. Hi Max,

Can you support your argument with some examples? How do you know Lear used to be “an alright guy”? What evidence is there of this in the play? Make sure your argument is sound with strong examples/evidence.
